As a national industry-university-research science and technology service platform, a national science and technology transfer demonstration agency,a national technology business incubator, a national public innovation space,and the first batch of new R&D institutions in Guangdong Province, IEIE has built public labs such as electromagnetic compatibility(EMC) lab,radio frequency communication lab, electrical safety lab, automotive electronic electromagnetic compatibility lab and environmental reliabilitylab, and it have academician workstations,9 research centers, more than 60 major technical service platforms, and undertook the implementation of the National 863 Program,200 national and provincial science and technology projects, such as the Nuclear High Base, won 8 national and provincial-level scientific and technological progress awards, and obtained more than 200 patents and incubated more than 30 incubating enterprises. IEIE is currently leading the industry in high-end electronic information applications such as Beidou Navigation, Automotive Electronics, Cyberspace Security, and Health Cloud.

In 2010,in order to serve the enterprises better and provide market-oriented service, IEIE integrated its laboratory resources such as electromagnetic compatibility public laboratory, environmental reliability public laboratory, and semiconductor lighting public laboratory.,and established “Dongguan Dongdian Testing Technology Co., Ltd.”, operated and managed laboratories as a company, and successively invested in the construction of RF laboratories, electrical safety laboratories, energy efficiency laboratories, and battery testing laboratories.
