What is ETL Certification?

Any electrical, mechanical, or electromechanical product with ETL(Electrical Testing Laboratories) mark indicates that the product meets the minimum requirements of the generally recognized US and Canadian product safety standards,and manufacturer accept regular strict inspections to ensure the product quality consistency.There is CETL certification as well,it's a Canada certification,manufactures can apply ETL and CETL at the same time, products with the CETL and ETL mark can be sold to the US and Canada markets.

ETL Mark:

Same with UL and CSA, ETL can test and issue ETL certificate according to UL standards or US national standard test, and can also test and issue composite certification marks in accordance with UL standards or US national standards and CSA standards or Canadian standards. The lower right "US" indicates that it applies to the United States, and the lower left "C" indicates that it applies to Canada, while having "US" and "C" applies to both countries.

Information Needed for ETL certification

At present, there are two ways to obtain an ETL certificate. One is to get a CB test report;the other is to apply directly. The required submissions are as follows:

1. Application Form
2. Copies of the CB test certificate (not required for direct application)
3. CB Copy of test report (not required for direct application)
4. Samples (4-8)
5.Other relevant test results and product data, such as product descriptions, photos, component lists, product                 performance and specifications, circuit schematics, etc. (If apply the CB report, a differential test is needed)
